#3678 - Ranch Oyster Crackers

1 - 1oz. envelope ranch dressing mix powder
1/2 tsp. dried dill weed
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 tsp. lemon pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
a pinch or two of salt
5 cups oyster crackers

In a large bowl add ranch dressing powder, dried dill weed, canola oil, lemon pepper, garlic salt and salt--stir to mix. Add the oyster crackers--toss to coat (or pour the whole mixture into a paper bag, close the top of the bag and shake to coat). Once coated, spread the crackers on baking sheets. Bake at 250 degrees for 15-20 minutes, stirring once during baking. Place crackers on paper towels to cool.

#1457 - Oyster Soup

1 pint fresh oysters (do not drain)
1 quart milk
1 TBSP butter
salt and pepper to your taste
oyster crackers

In a saucepan add milk, salt, pepper--stir. Add the oysters/juice to the milk mixture--stir. Turn heat to medium--add butter and stir. Stir and heat mixture until just hot--do not let it boil. Serve with oyster crackers.

#1413 - Creamy Crab Soup

1lb. lump crab meat
1 quart half and half dairy creamer (fresh)
1 stick butter
3 TBSP chopped celery
2 TBSP chopped parsley
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
7 drops Tabasco sauce
1 TBSP flour
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup cream
oyster crackers

Remove any shell bits from crab meat. In a saucepan add half and half--turn heat on low. Heat half and half until hot (not boiling). Add butter--stir until butter melts. Add flaked crab meat, celery, parsley, salt, pepper and Tabasco sauce--stir and keep heat on low--simmer for 15 minutes. In a separate bowl add flour--slowly add water to flour and stir. Pour flour mixture into the crab mixture--stir and cook until soup thickens. Add cream--stir well. Simmer for 20 minutes (stir occasionally). Serve hot with oyster crackers.

#36 - Snack Crackers

1 - 12 oz. package oyster crackers
1 package of original ranch dressing mix (Hidden Valley brand)
3/4 cup crisco oil
1 TBSP McCormick dill weed
1/2 tsp. McCormick garlic powder

Pour all ingredients except crackers into a large ziploc bag. Close bag, shake and mix thoroughly. Open bag and add crackers. Close bag and shake to mix until all crackers are coated. (If you don't have a ziploc bag, you can mix in a bowl).

Pour everything into a 9 x 13 x 2 cake can and spread evenly over bottom of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Stir every 15 minutes while baking.
